About the club
Greenwood Park LTC is a friendly neighbourhood tennis club aimed at meeting the needs of the local community. Players of all abilities are welcomed and we try to offer tennis at all levels from kids' minitennis to Herts County League matches. Coaching is available for those who wish to improve their game.
Regular social tennis sessions are held, as well as internal club tournaments.
Social tennis is weekly on Wednesdays, starting at 7pm and Sundays, starting at 10am.
We also have about 17 teams entered in various competitive leagues throughout the year. The Club has 5 floodlit all-weather courts plus a Kids Zone for minitennis, and a practice wall. Court usage is free to members and courts are available for casual use when not booked for organised sessions. A diary for members to book courts is in the clubhouse. A charge is made for the use of floodlights, except during Club social tennis sessions.
Non-members are permitted to use court 4 for an hourly hire charge (payable at the newsagents at the top of Tippendell Lane), when it is not reserved for Club use. Members may play with guests or bring them to Club social sessions, on payment of a visitors fee. KidsZone members may use the KidsZone court when it’s not being used for coaching , but must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
The Club has a pavilion with kitchen facilities, a table tennis table and various social events are held throughout the year.
New members are always welcome, especially since :
- we do not charge a joining fee,
- there is no 'playing-in' procedure,
- we do not operate an 'all-whites' rule for clothing.
